Refund & Cancellation Policy
Effective 2026-09-02
This policy explains how cancellation requests and refund reviews are handled for professional services, memberships in The Strategy Academy, subscriptions, invoices, and other paid services.
General rule
Fees paid to GHL Financial Services are generally non-refundable once work has started, access has been granted, a digital product or membership has been made available, a filing deadline has been reserved, or professional time has been allocated. Any refund request is reviewed based on the service, timing, work performed, written terms, processor rules, and applicable law.
Professional services
Tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, trust accounting, consulting, and related services may involve intake, review, setup, communication, document requests, research, administrative processing, and file preparation before a final deliverable is issued. Fees for completed work, work in progress, setup, administrative processing, and reserved capacity may be non-refundable.
The Strategy Academy memberships
Membership fees for The Strategy Academy provide access to educational content and may be billed monthly, annually, or under another stated plan. Unless a checkout screen or written agreement says otherwise, cancellation stops future billing but does not automatically refund prior charges or partial billing periods.
Cancellation requests
To request cancellation of a membership, recurring payment, or service, use the available account or billing portal tools when provided, or contact GHL Financial Services before the next scheduled charge. Processing time may be required, and a request received after work begins or after a charge is processed may not prevent that charge.
No outcome-based refunds
Refunds are not issued because of a tax result, refund amount, balance due, agency response, business result, legal outcome, asset-protection result, or financial result, unless a separate written agreement expressly provides otherwise.
Refund processing fees
An approved refund is issued net of the amounts below. Processing costs on the original charge are not returned to GHL Financial Services when a payment is refunded, so a card-funded refund carries an additional percentage deduction.
| Original payment method | Deducted from an approved refund |
|---|---|
| Credit or debit card | $25 administrative fee plus 3% of the total refund amount |
| ACH bank transfer or another approved method | $25 administrative fee |
Payment disputes and administrative costs
Returned payments, chargebacks, payment disputes, processor fees, collection activity, or administrative processing may result in additional fees where permitted by law and by the applicable agreement. GHL Financial Services may suspend access or services while a payment issue is unresolved.
